Ministry Visitation
· Sepal's annual pastors' conference
     -Talk with missionaries and pastors
     -Hear Brother Andrew, known as "God's Smuggler," from Holland
     -Hear World Vision's Samuel Kamaleson from India
· Jovens da Verdade seminary and camp ministry
· São Paulo ministry to street people
· Vale da Benção ministry to orphans
· Foz de Iguaçu ministry to the handicapped
· Amazon River town (get a vision for the thousands of unreached towns in Brazil)
    · Indigenous tribe village (tentative)
Sight Seeing
· Visit Rio de Janeiro's Christ statue, Sugarloaf Mountain and beaches
· See the meeting of the rivers from a boat on the Amazon River
· Take a boat ride up to the Falls of Iguacu, which make Niagara look like a water faucet!
· Visit Itaipu Dam, one of the most spectacular dams in the world
· Visit the resort town of Aguás de Lindoia and the Brazilian countryside
· Enjoy the city of São Paulo, home to 20 million people, with a skyline of tall buildings as far as the eye can see

 

Vision 2003 Schedule

May 2003
5/2, Friday: Afternoon departure from LAX or other airport

5/3, Saturday: Morning arrival in São Paulo, Jovens da Verdade seminary and camp for lunch, orientation, and dinner

5/4, Sunday: Van tour of downtown São Paulo, attend a Brazilian church, lunch out, shopping at Arts and Crafts Fair in Embu, dinner and housing with missionaries (evening church service optional)

5/5, Monday: Morning office orientation, street ministry in SP, lunch out, Vale da Benção orphan ministry, dinner on road, arrive in Aguas de Lindoia to sleep

5/6, Tuesday: Conference, meals with missionaries and Brazilian pastors, seminars

5/7, Wednesday: Conference, meals with missionaries and Brazilian pastors, seminars

5/8, Thursday: Leave conference early to SP, fly to Foz de Iguaçu for tour of falls and dam, dinner out, evening ministry visits optional, overnight accommodations in hotel

5/9, Friday: Morning ministry visits, see falls, lunch out, fly to Rio, dinner out

5/10: Saturday: Rio sights and beaches, lunch and dinner out, travel to Manaus

5/11, Sunday: River boat trip to the meeting of the waters, tour river town, visit a tribe

5/12, Monday: Visit Manaus conference, fly to SP in afternoon and continue on to LAX or other airports

5/13, Tuesday: Morning arrivals to LAX or other airports

9 nights sleeping in Brazil; 2 nights on the plane
Visa is required for Brazil

The total price includes all food, transportation and lodging while in Brazil as listed below. Most nights are spent in hotels. Additional individual expenses may include purchases, visa at the nearest Brazilian consulate (required for Brazil), ground transportation to and from LAX.
